from looks he created for the spring runways. —Lotus Abrams
Spring Forward
Whether slicked back or
sleeked down, wet-look styles
with boyish charm made a
statement on the runways. At
Calvin Klein in New York City,
Guido created low, sporty
ponytails using Fabricate 03
and water, while Jonathan
Saunders in London featured
a just-out-of-the-water grunge
look, produced by applying
Hardwear 16 and Outshine
01 on wet hair. Leatherwear
house Loewe also featured
the slick look with tight,
ultrastraight ponytails achieved
with Hardwear 16, Iron Silk 07
and a flat iron.

Extreme Measures
“These looks are fantasies,
and they make a great show,”
Guido says. “Salons can
reinvent them for their clients.”
Dramatic, show-stopping looks
included the alien-inspired
styles at Alexander McQueen
in Paris, which required a
heavy dose of Redken Forceful
23 for extra hold, and the
attention-getting Afro wigs at
Louis Vuitton in Paris, achieved
with Guts 10, Spray Starch
15 and some serious back-
combing.
