everyone from fashionistas to celebrities like Beyoncé
and Jessica Alba, are, dare we say, feeling a bit blue.
The perfect accompaniment to spring’s bright,
sunny days, statement-making hues that run the
gamut from OPI’s I Vant to Be A-Lone Star and
CND Inkwell to Essie’s Coat Azure are adding
a serious splash of femininity and glamour to

Water Wonder
Offer clients a spritz of face mist to
refresh and soothe their skin.
Face mists are all the rage these days. Made mostly of water, face mists offer
clients myriad benefits, including soothed,
soft and balanced skin. Many new formulas
also contain antioxidants and ingredients that
nourish and protect. This multi-functional
product can be used to hydrate skin after a
long plane ride, set makeup, provide a burst
of refreshment on hot summer days and
more. “A facial mist is not only refreshing to
the skin but it can also protect and purify, in
addition to offering antioxidant benefits,” says
Jacqueline Flam-Stokes, director of marketing
and sales for Avène. Avène’s Thermal Spring
Water, for example, is enriched with silicates
and trace elements that help to restore
skin’s natural balance. It is also used post-procedure to tone or throughout the day to
refresh. Pure spring water face mists can be
used on clients of any age, and while scented
face mists can provide many benefits to skin,
Flam-Stokes notes that the added fragrance
may irritate sensitive skin. Maya Water
Facial Mist is available in Pure, an unscented
formula, and Organic White Tea, which is
scented. Pure contains natural Norwegian
thermal spa water, while Organic White Tea
facial mist contains organic white tea that
helps prevent and repair sun damage and
also fight wrinkles and skin discoloration.
Ole Henriksen also offers a facial mist that
contains African red and white tea called
African Red Tea Face Mist, which protects,
renews and revitalizes skin. aveneusa.com;

As a model, Anna Elizabeth frequently flew to south Florida during the winter modeling
season. But when she saw the market for a chic, local nail spa that would provide
women with a decadent alternative to the existing locations, she made a bold career
change. Elizabeth decided to open Lace Nail
and Beauty Lab in Miami Beach, FL, an
850-square-foot nail salon and boutique that
provides both local and non-local clients a place
to receive high quality manicures and pedicures
in an ultra-trendy setting. The princess-pink
stools complement crisp white pedicure chairs
and tables to create a girly yet modern interior.
Lace’s most popular service, the Signature Manicure and Pedicure, is not standard.
Completely waterless, the service utilizes warm lotion and hot towels to gently moisturize
and soften calluses. The salon also offers a Dreamsicle treatment inspired by delicious
vanilla and orange popsicles, which includes a creamy milk soak, an exfoliating scrub,
body butter and a soufflé massage to instantly refresh and delight all senses. —C.N.
